J.B.’s Story

October 28th, 2010

Hill & Moin LLP won compensation for the sixth grader’s fall on a spill.

J.B., a sixth grader at the Legacy School in Manhattan, was walking down stairs at the end of the school day when she slipped on a puddle of juice.

The juice had been there all day, but the school had not cleaned it up. After J.B. fell, her friends carried her to the security desk, the nurse examined her, and her mother came to school to take her to the hospital. J.B.’s left ankle was fractured, and she was no longer able to play on her school’s soccer team. A family member recommended Hill & Moin LLP. J.B. and her mother consulted with the firm, and the attorneys brought a suit against the city and its department of education.

The attorneys negotiated a great settlement for J.B., who said that Hill & Moin LLP handled her case “very nicely.” Her mother added “we will recommend [them] to anyone we know that might have an accident.”
