25 Year Old Electrician Receives $165,000 Settlement After Hurting Knee During Apartment Renovation

A.R., a 25 year old Brooklyn resident and electrician, was injured during an apartment renovation project. During construction, he fell into an interior hole located within the apartment. In addition to a workers’ compensation claim, A.R. came to Hill & Moin to see whether they could potentially assist with a third party action against the construction company or the building owner under Labor Law §240.

Painter Wins $325,000 Settlement After Slipping and Falling on Snow and Ice

Yury Tarler, was visiting his mother in Manhattan when he was injured while walking to pick up his car from his parking spot. There had been a snowstorm just four days earlier and Mr. Tarler slipped and fell on snow and ice on 10th Avenue. Mr. Tarler underwent surgery to repair his leg fractures.

Union Worker is Grateful for Settlement After Falling From Scaffold

Decordova Foreman, a 65 year old native of Jamaica and proud Union Mason tender, was injured after falling from a 6 foot scaffold while assisting a bricklayer on a new construction site. As a result of his fall, Mr. Foreman suffered injuries to his lower back, wrist, shoulder and knee. He had not been supplied with any safety or protective equipment.

J. Rodriguez, a self-employed Manhattan housekeeper, was on her way to a client’s home, when she slipped on ice on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, NY. Ms. Rodriguez was rushed from the scene by ambulance to Methodist Hospital, where just three days later, she underwent spinal surgery.

60 Year Old Woman Injured While Getting Off Private Bus in Brooklyn Receives Top Settlement

S.L., a 60 year old Brooklyn woman was injured while exiting a private bus. S.L. was at the back door of the bus, just about to get off completely, when the bus moved while she was still half on, trapping her foot beneath the back wheel of the bus.
