Undocumented Construction Worker Who Fell Off Scaffold Receives Life-Altering $1 Million Settlement

O.Q., an Undocumented construction worker from Mexico, was working at a construction site in Staten Island. O.Q. was instructed by his employer to complete work on top of an improperly balanced scaffold without any safety equipment. O.Q. followed instructions and while drilling, the scaffold became wobbly and he fell to the ground. He sustained head injuries and multiple fractures.

Longtime USPS Employee Receives $450,000 Settlement After Slip and Fall on Black Ice

45-year-old T.C. had been a United States Post Office employee for 25 years when she slipped and fell down icy stairs of a residence on her letter delivery route. Despite wearing her proper USPS regulated snow boots, the large patches of unsalted black ice on the building’s outdoor steps caused her to fall, tearing ligaments in her ankle and hitting her head as a result. Bystanders to the accident both heard and witnessed her fall and called an ambulance for T.C.

Ukrainian Electrician Changed Attorneys and Receives $500, 000 Settlement After Being Struck By A Car

On the day after a snowstorm, a 56 year old electrician from Ukraine drove to the scene of an accident involving his daughter. After V.B parked, he was struck suddenly by a car and knocked unconscious. V.B suffered a brain bleed. V. While commuting home from work on a Citibank bicycle, Brandon was the victim of a reckless yellow cab driver who was not paying proper attention while driving. As he was cycling through an intersection with the traffic light in his favor, Brandon was knocked from his bicycle and suffered serious injuries, including a non-displaced fracture of the left radial head and a displaced fracture of the right radial head. A.A.H., a 41 year old Guatemalan man, was on his way home from church at the Mount Kisco train stop waiting for the train near the edge of the platform. Upon hearing the train approaching, he turned his head and was hit suddenly by the train, suffering an injury to the head.
