New York City Social Worker Who Slips and Falls on Freshly Waxed Office Floor, Injuring Her Right Knee and Shoulder, Receives $235,000 Settlement for Pain and Suffering

February 20th, 2018

I.H., a New York City Social Worker, was injured on the job when walking from her cubicle to the reception area of her office to clock out for the day. I.H. was walking down an interior hallway that was waxed just before she entered it, causing her to slip and fall. There were no signs or cones placed to alert I.H. that the floor conditions were hazardous. She attempted to get herself up off the floor, but again slipped on the freshly waxed floor. After falling, I.H. saw a white jelly-like substance on the floor and on her clothes.

After meeting with a Workers’ Compensation attorney, I.H. was directed to speak with a third-party Personal Injury attorney. After spending two years with another Personal Injury attorney who made little progress on her case, I.H. decided to get in contact with a Hill & Moin. Hill & Moin’s attorneys worked hard for I.H. and were able to present her with a settlement of $235,000 for her pain and suffering.

I.H. was extremely happy with her experience with Hill & Moin. “Everything was great! Everyone was pleasant and professional. I always felt comfortable with the staff. No question was ever too small or too big to ask and my issues were always addressed. I was always kept informed on new developments. I would happily refer anyone to speak with Hill & Moin if they suffered a slip and fall accident.”
