Russian Immigrant Awarded $325,000 Settlement in Slip and Fall

July 26th, 2012

On a rainy September morning, B.Y., a 69-year-old Brooklyn resident, was running her usual errands and stepped into her local check cashing store. Unfortunately,  she slipped and fell on a puddle of water that had collected on the floor of the store, fracturing her right ankle and requiring surgery.

Lucky for her, she was referred to Hill & Moin. Upon meeting Cheryl Moin, she knew she was in the right place. “My first impression was that this was a firm that cared about me!”

She felt welcomed by the entire staff and attorneys and confident she was in good hands. She came to rely on Hill & Moin’s Russian speaking staff members, who helped her feel comfortable and assured her understanding of the litigation details. Throughout the course of the lawsuit, she felt “well informed”. Because Hill & Moin took the legal burden off her, she was able to focus simply on her recovery and physical therapy. When it did come time for her deposition, although emotionally intense, she felt well prepared and comfortable with the questioning.

B.Y. always felt “everything was taken care of” and is extremely happy with the outcome of her litigation. She is relieved that she can put her lawsuit behind her and that her attorneys fought to get her a generous settlement that reflects the seriousness of her accident and injuries!
