On a clear and sunny morning, D.F., a 39-year-old woman from the Dominican Republic, took a taxi cab to her job as a hospital administrator. As she exited the cab, D.F.’s foot got stuck in a hole in the sidewalk causing her to trip and fall.

$350,000 Settlement Recovered for Senior Improperly Secured In Ambulette

While on his way to one of his regular doctor appointments, A.L. a Russian-speaking Ukrainian with a disability, was placed inside an ambulette without having his wheelchair properly belted in by the attendant. While traveling on the Verrazano Bridge, the ambulette driver attempted to avoid a collision and suddenly slammed on the brakes, causing A.L. to fly out of his seat and land against the passenger seat. At impact, A.L. fractured his leg in three places.

E.R.’s wife had recently returned from the Dominican Republic and was enjoying her time reunited with her husband when she suddenly began to have trouble breathing. E.R. rushed his wife to a municipal hospital in the Bronx where the doctors failed to pay attention to the severity of her condition.
