Aurora D., a 60-year-old woman from Flushing, had a bunionectomy on her right foot. Eighteen months later, Aurora still had excruciating pain and wasn’t able to walk normally. Her prescribed physical therapy regimen wasn’t helping, and so she went to a podiatrist who told her that not only had the surgeon performed the wrong kind of bunionectomy, but he had also performed the procedure incorrectly!
