Walking Tall After Her Settlement for Podiatric Malpractice

May 21st, 2011

Medical Malpractice ClientAurora D., a 60-year-old woman from Flushing, had a bunionectomy on her right foot. Eighteen months later, Aurora still had excruciating pain and wasn’t able to walk normally. Her prescribed physical therapy regimen wasn’t helping, and so she went to a podiatrist who told her that not only had the surgeon performed the wrong kind of bunionectomy, but he had also performed the procedure incorrectly!

Fortunately for Aurora, she came to Hill & Moin and found sympathetic lawyers who knew exactly what to do to make the doctor pay. Even though the insurance company initially “dug in” at a low number, Hill & Moin negotiated a settlement that Aurora happily accepted.

Aurora says that the staff at Hill & Moin was “very professional with me.” She was particularly grateful for the personal attention that she received from Sandy Hill, one of the partners. Aurora says that Sandy “understood the problem from the very beginning, and she tried very hard to help me.”
