Russian Painter Falls From Ladder And Receives Settlement Greater Than Half Million Dollars

In the summer of 2014, Mr. R was seriously injured while painting and doing maintenance work at a New York summer camp. While painting the roof of a camp building, Mr. R fell from an unsafe ladder and suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured vertebrae and medial meniscal tears to his right and left knees, which later required surgeries. Mr. R found his way to the law firm of Hill & Moin and was extremely lucky that he did.

Cable Technician Injured While Attempting to Park Work Truck as Front Tire Enters Open Electrical Manhole

A.F., a Cable Technician, was installing a cable box at a Brooklyn residence. After unloading the necessary equipment, A.F. was attempting to park his previously double-parked work vehicle, when the vehicle’s front tire entered an open electrical manhole. A.F.’s vehicle lunged forward, and he suffered injuries as a result of the quick jerking motion of his work truck.

Russian Worker Falls from Ladder And Is Thankful For $275,000 Settlement After Changing Attorneys

Y.B., a middle aged Russian Construction worker, was installing HVAC piping with a contracting company on the renovation project in Times Square. Mr. Belik’s ladder slipped on an uneven tile floor, causing him to fall and he fractured his wrist.

69 Year Old Puerto Rican Man Struck By Construction Site Door Wins $600,000 Settlement

F.M., a 69 year old man originally from Puerto Rico, living in Brooklyn, was walking alone on a windy day when he passed a townhouse construction site on Hart Street. The wind picked up, and a negligently repaired construction site door knocked him down, breaking his hip.

25 Year Old Electrician Receives $165,000 Settlement After Hurting Knee During Apartment Renovation

A.R., a 25 year old Brooklyn resident and electrician, was injured during an apartment renovation project.  During construction, he fell into an interior hole located within the apartment.   In addition to a workers’ compensation claim, A.R. came to Hill & Moin to see whether they could potentially assist with a third party action against the construction company or the building owner under Labor Law §240.
