Theresa W., 54, from Bay Shore, NY, was injured when a 60-foot long tractor trailer plowed into the small Ford Focus car in which she was a passenger. The impact was hard, moving the car from one avenue to the other. Theresa W.’s body slammed into the passenger door and dashboard, leaving her with right knee, back, neck, and shoulder injuries. Cindy B., from Rego Park, NY, was hit by a car on a summer afternoon just before her 50th birthday. She was walking in a crosswalk in Queens, on her way from her job as a receptionist for her bank. Medical attention revealed that the impact fractured two vertebrae in her neck and gave her a mild knee fracture. She was unable to work for weeks afterward.
