Mexican Laborer Falls Through Stairs at Construction Site – Hill & Moin Wins $415,000 Settlement!

February 24th, 2014

A.Garcia, a 41-year-old, laborer from Mexico, was doing construction on his job site when he fell through a defective temporary staircase. He unfortunately suffered serious wrist and back injuries and was unable to return to work. Soon after his accident, his good friend and a former client of Hill & Moin, LLP told him he needed the help of the firm.

Mr. Garcia met with both Cheryl Eisberg Moin and Melisande Hill and immediately felt comfortable. The attorneys and staff treated him like a part of the family, calling him often to inform of news on his case, listening to his concerns, and answering any and all of his questions. Mr. Garcia appreciated Hill & Moin’s Spanish-speaking staff describing them as “lovely people” who really accommodated his language barrier.

Mr. Garcia knew his case was being well handled and was relieved to be able to simply focus on recovery and just wait for a resolution. He was “so happy” about the amount he was rewarded, especially since he never had to testify at a deposition! Impressed with how efficient the Hill & Moin attorneys were in reaching a $415,000 settlement, he would without a doubt recommend the firm over and over again!
