Longtime USPS Employee Receives $450,000 Settlement After Slip and Fall on Black Ice

45-year-old T.C. had been a United States Post Office employee for 25 years when she slipped and fell down icy stairs of a residence on her letter delivery route. Despite wearing her proper USPS regulated snow boots, the large patches of unsalted black ice on the building’s outdoor steps caused her to fall, tearing ligaments in her ankle and hitting her head as a result. Bystanders to the accident both heard and witnessed her fall and called an ambulance for T.C.

83 Year Old Dominican Native Receives Six Figure Settlement After Tripping Over An Unleveled Door Saddle Exiting Her Local Supermarket

The wheels of her shopping cart and foot became caught on an improperly laid door saddle. Due to the dangerous condition, E.M. fell to the ground and knew right away something was wrong. At her age, she knew that she would have a difficult recovery from the leg fracture.

Prior Medical Conditions Did Not Prevent Bronx Resident from Collecting $490,000 for Trip and Fall on a Defective Sidewalk

New York Accident AttorneysP.A.K., a Lehman College Adjunct Lecturer, suffered a double wrist fracture after exiting her physical therapy office to meet her husband in their car. As P.A.K. was walking to the car, she tripped and fell over an elevated sidewalk flagstone, causing her to fall forward. In response to the fall, P.A.K. braced for the impact by putting her hands out in front of her, making contact with hard snow piled along the sidewalk. P.A.K. thought nothing of the fall until the pain in her wrists became severe. At the hospital, she was found to have a fracture to both of her wrists, one of which would later require surgery.

Fall Over a Curb Resulted In $140,000 Settlement Agreement

New York City Social Worker Who Slips and Falls on Freshly Waxed Office Floor, Injuring Her Right Knee and Shoulder, Receives $235,000 Settlement for Pain and Suffering

I.H., a New York City Social Worker, was injured on the job when walking from her cubicle to the reception area of her office to clock out for the day. I.H. was walking down an interior hallway that was waxed just before she entered it, causing her to slip and fall. There were no signs or cones placed to alert I.H. that the floor conditions were hazardous. She attempted to get herself up off the floor, but again slipped on the freshly waxed floor. After falling, I.H. saw a white jelly-like substance on the floor and on her clothes.
