Senior Trips and Falls on Raised Cellar Door En Route Home from Coney Island Synagogue and Receives Substantial Settlement

R.S., an older religious Jewish man, suffered a trip and fall in the Coney Island portion of Brooklyn on his way to his home. R.S. was making his way home from the synagogue, when he tripped and fell over a raised cellar door. His left foot became caught on the raised edge of the cellar door and he immediately fell onto his knees, resulting in a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Dancer Receives Hard Fought Settlement Following Sidewalk Trip And Fall Accident

80 Year Old Reaches Excellent Settlement After Being Struck by Falling Supermarket Stock Carts

I.G., an 80 year old man, was taking his usual weekly walk to a nearby supermarket. Along the way, he came to an area, just outside the parking lot, where supermarket stock carts were being kept, and haphazardly chained to a street sign, with a small cement divider in front of some of them. As he attempted to walk passed these carts, and into the parking lot, one of the carts came down on his left side. The force of the impact on I.G. caused him to fall to the ground, and suffer serious injuries.

76 Year Old Russian Woman Injured During Blackout Caused by Storm at Camp for World War II Survivors in Upstate New York

R.A., a 76 year old Russian woman, and World War II survivor, was spending time at Berkshire Hills Emanuel Camp/Adult Vacation Center. A large storm was approaching, and as common practice for the camp, they shut down all electricity. The camp would usually provide patrons with candles, but on this night did not. R.A. awoke from her sleep to use the restroom, and in the darkness, tripped and fell over a rug. As a result of her trip and fall on the bathroom rug, R.A. suffered a fracture of the left wrist.
